Now after the install is complete we will open Sonar Cick on "Edit" and click on "Preferences".
#Cakewalk dimension default vst folder location pro#
The Dimension Pro content should now already be set to where you need it to go.But when you come to the "Artist Demo Projects" folder on disk #4 I direct it to go to the Cakewalk Content folder on the Audio drive. Let everything go to it's preset directory until you are offered the chance to set the direction of the "Dimension Pro Multisamples" Set the Dimension Pro Samples to go to the folder that was previously created on the samples drive called "Dimension Pro".
Direct the Beatscape library to go to the folder that we already created on the Samples drive called "Beatscape". On disk #2 let everything go to it's preset directory until you are offered to choose where to put the Beatscape sample library. And that will take care of everything on the first disk. We are installing the first disk now Choose to let everything go to it's pre chosen location until you are offered to direct the location of the "Cakewalk Content" Direct the Cakewalk Content to go the the folder that was beforehand created on the Audio Drive - which was named "Cakewalk Content". So, now I begin my installation: Choose the "Advanced Option." Now on my Samples drive I created a folder called "Beatscape" then on the Samples Drive I also created a folder called "Dimension Pro". (Just to have folders prepared ahead of time - before starting the install.) I went to my Audio drive and created a folder named "Cakewalk Content" also in the Audio drive a folder called Cakewalk Projects - now inside of that "Cakewalk Projects" folder I created a folder called "Audio Data". "offcenter2005" - I'll post how I handled my install First, since you have already done a install when you go to do another install you may get a pop up message which will say something like "directories have been determined by a previous installation." But if not, this how I did my install disk by disk. Csn you give me a run down of where i should put the correct folders in the right places? Ive posted on the digifreq forum but they take a long time to respond and i have a few jobs i need to start right away. Im thinking about reinstalling it and putting things in their right places. The reason being my old recording system only used one hdd and now ive gone with the suggested three storage drive setup and its a little confusing.

the ssd will smile running this i have an intel 320 series here and it's cooling When i did the initial install i didnt do the advanced option which i should have to direct the files to the right destination in the first place. įor others plugins like session drummer and the ijsntruments, it's marginal, data streaming is low. You shouldn't have audio data due to sonar unless you use the default audio folder created by sonar inslallation, so go to pref and change the audio path, and by the way, by default you have an audio folder created by project so cool anyway. the ssd will smile running this i have an intel 320 series here and it's cooling
those can be moved (no need to stress for perfect space as it's not big file streaming )įor others plugins like session drummer and the ijsntruments, it's marginal, data streaming is low. Others audio data are only coming from Dimension, Beastcape and convolutions wav for the perfect space. Thanks for the help.you shouldn't have audio data due to sonar unless you use the default audio folder created by sonar inslallation, so go to pref and change the audio path, and by the way, by default you have an audio folder created by project so cool anyway. There is the cakewalk content file that contains three sub folders that are, 1: audio library 2: midi library 3: sonar x1 producer. I am going to keep the program itself on the ssd but the other stuff in sonar is what im wondering what to do with. Just the os and programs on c drive, projects and audio on d drive, and sample libraries on e drive. I read the link for the digifreq drive explination but it dosent seem to break these files down. If any help can be given id appreciate it. This by far is the more complex sonar installment that i have done, but also this is the first time ive used a 3 drive configuration for my recording system. Im not sure what drives to split these up on. Then in the program files there is the cakewalk folder with plugins and the sonar x1 producer folder.Īlso the program files (x86), cakewalk folder, studio instruments that contain si bass guitar, si drum kit, Ect. Then there is the cakewalk projects folder with the sub folders, 1: Audio data 2: picture cache.
